5 Things When Creating A Book Cover

I self-published many books. The questions regarding the cover were these:

     1.  What color to make the cover.
     2.  Put the authors name on top or bottom of the book.
     3.  Graphics.
     4. Eye Catching.
     5. A short eye catching title.

When creating your book cover some times less on the cover is better than having too much.

Medical Insurance What A Nightmare

As a result of working in the Medical, Insurance, Billing, Industry, for the past twenty-five plus years she has included within the book the following:
·        Example of Appeal or Form Letters for your use. A step by step instruction in how to write an Appeal Letter.
·        10 + Reasons for Insurance Denials.
·        Insurance Terminology for Consumers to know and use: This is important speaking to your Medical Providers or Medical Insurance Company.
·        Government Insurances Discussed.  (Ex. Medicare)
·        Knowledge is a powerful thing. In this case it will become money.
It's time for a change. What do you think?

Self--Publishing Good and Bad

 Self--Publishing Good and Bad

Do you find as a published author you are always giving away your book to somebody for many different reasons? Yes, this goes along with the territory of having a published book, I am afraid. What the general public does not understand is the author has to pay for their own books.

When you self-publish your first book you are now in unknown territory. Yes, you could have read books on the subject. You probably spoke to many authors about this subject but until you actually put your money where your book is, you really do not know anything at all about what it is and what is expected of a self-published author.

You need to look at the subject as love. When you self-publish you are constantly spending money for all sorts of projects you never dreamed of in the past.

These are some of the things s you should be aware of before you self-publish your book:

(1) You will not be able to put your book on a known bookstores shelf. The reason for this is the publisher pays the bookstore for shelf space. There is not enough room for everybody’s books. They usually stick with the well-known popular authors they know they can sell and make money on.
(2)An unknown author is a risk.

(3)You will pay to self-publish your book.

(4)You will do all the marketing which is completely frustrating.

(5)The best way to sell your book is to do a talk or presentation at a club or group full of people and sell your book in the back of the room.

(6)You will have to pay somebody to edit your book. It is not a good thing to edit your own book. You are to close to it and can not see what others can see.

(7)If you need illustrations done and you can not do your own this is another expense.

(8)PUBLISH YOUR BOOK YOURSELF NO/CHARGE. My book Writer’s How to Publish Free will help you.

I do not want you to get frustrated and not publish your book. If you feel your book is worth the money and effort – go for it. As I said above, this is strictly for people who love reading and writing and are willing to get hooked on an expensive hobby or extra income.

Once you self-publish your first book and you get good feed back from, friends, family and complete strangers you will definitely publish your second book. See what I said. HOOKED.Thank you for reading my article. Please feel free to read any of my numerous articles on various subjects.Copyright Linda E. Meckler 2009 updated 2018

On my walk poem

On my walk
I can skip
I can hop
Pop, Pop
Yop, Yop

I see a stream
I see fish swimming
In the stream
Swim, swim, swim

Flip flop, flip flop
I see an Umbee
Yes, I see a Umbee
Some are green
Some are blue
Some say cock a doodle doo
I do believe
They belong in a zoo

The children are on bicycles
The children are skating
The children are roller blading
The children are on scooters
The children are on rocket shooters
Up and down the street
Up and down the street
I can’t even see their feet

There are red bikes
There are green bikes
There are blue bikes
There are strip bikes
There are polka dotted bikes
There are boomper bikes
There are dream bikes
There are gas bikes
There are electric bikes

Oh my, Oh my
How do I keep track of
All these little tykes

On my walk in the park one day.

Midnight (A Kitten) Poem

A little black kitten
Named Midnight came
Through my life one night

She was small and cuddly
A bundle of short black hair
and energy of hope and delight

She zoomed from room to room
Batting her toys around the room
with her small paws she used
As a broom

When she was hungry she scratched my hand
When she was thirsty she scratched my hand
When she wanted to cuddle she lay
On my stomach and purred.

But alas, I had to give her up
My allergies had flared up
It is a shame
I came to love that little
Ball of black short hair
Named Midnight that came into my life one night.

A Walk In The Park poem

A WALK IN THE PARK

Oh, I love to walk in the park
I look at the grass
I look at the trees
Beneath the blue sky so open and free.

I look at the birds flying so free
The birds in the trees
They sing with the breeze
They sing to greet you
They sing to greet me

The birds flutter
The birds putter
They zoom around
and chase each other.

They see a bug
Oh, good what fun
It’s time to eat and
Time to drink
Oh, let’s take a bath
In the sink

Time for sleep
My feathers are sleepy
and it’s time to say good night
and catch a few winks

Questions to ask When Moving To A Facility

Something happens when you have to change your life. This can be a number of different things.

Your health is the biggest reason for moving into a facility. When it becomes a hardship for you to do the simplest things for yourself. Things which we all take for granted. But health and age creep on all of us and some decisions have to be made.

These are some questions to ask:

What level care do I need?
What will be the cost?
Do I need a Skilled Nursing Facility or an Assisted Living Facility?
Will I have to sell my home to pay for the facility?
What if there is a spouse living in your home. Does this spouse come with you or your spouse stay in the home or go live with relatives?
What does my Medicare cover?
What about the food. Maybe your on a special diet or can’t eat certain foods will the cook or cooks of the facility accommodate you or will I starve to death?

These are all good questions to ask and lots more but I would suggest if you are considering this question go to the facility and watch what happens from the lobby to the rooms.

Important:

Yes, it is nice to be in a facility that has a big brand name and lots of money behind it. It is a definite plus with fabulous landscaping but are you really going to be talking to the people or companies who own the facility. No, you will be speaking on daily basis to the people who work there. Who would you be seeing and taking care of you on a daily basis. This is what you need to know. Is this person nice, efficient somebody I can live with in my life and not make upset on a daily basis?
These are some of the questions you need to ask on a daily basis.
