It’s amazing what the human brain can think up. This idea of the story line came out of nowhere. I sat down at my computer and started writing. The story started by thinking logically what would come next in a cold case investigation. The characters wrote the story. It just took off and now I have three books in the Shoe Mystery series. This book in the cold case investigation jumps into witchcraft and evolves from there.

Introduction:

Attorney George Shoe had just passed the bar and he was now officially an Attorney of Law in California. He had been so immersed in studying for the bar exam; he hadn’t given any thought about where he would practice. Two days after he found out he had passed the exam George was having lunch, as usual, at the Coffee Shop about two miles from his apartment. While he was eating George overheard Dan the manager of the coffee shop say to Kathy the cute, curvy red-haired waitress, “I need an attorney and I mean now!”

George got up, walked over to Dan and said, “I’m an attorney.” From that moment on George’s life changed. Instead of having to worry about where he was going to set up his law practice, Dan Sea, the manager of the Coffee Shop offered him the use of his back office from 9:00 in the morning until noon.  For a fee, of course.

 This system worked out for George. Now he had a place to see clients and to eat brunch. It all moved like clockwork until a DOG HOUSE SHOWED UP IN HIS APARTMENT.

Brain Cleaning A silly Story

I said brain cleaning not drain cleaning. Big difference or is it. For some people their brain acts like a sewer.

Do you want to clean your brain of the memories over a bad relationship? This is not the way. With a little training and different way of thinking you could clean your brain another way.

How do you clean your brain? Let’s see when you clean anything you usually start with soap and water or some kind of cleaning product. But let me think how would you clean your mind?

That would be a problem. The outside of your brain is covered by skin and hair and if you used soap and water it wouldn’t get inside the head and directly into the brain. Let’s see what else can I do?

I could try drinking olive oil that would certainly clean out the bottom part of my body but I don’t think it would touch my brain.

I could try submerging my brain in water and hope the water would leak in through the ear canals and then I would have a clean brain.

I could try running a hose into one ear so the water would run out the other and then my brain would be clean. No, I think my ears would be clean not my brain.

No, I don’t think that would work either. Maybe try meditation. Just sit on the floor with my legs folded. Clear my brain of thoughts and sink into a world of nothing. Yes, I believe that would clean my brain. What do you think?

5 Things When Creating A Book Cover

I self-published many books. The questions regarding the cover were these:

     1.  What color to make the cover.

     2.  Put the authors name on top or bottom of the book.

     3.  Graphics.

     4. Eye Catching.

     5. A short eye catching title.

When creating your book cover some times less on the cover is better than having too much.

Medical Insurance What A Nightmare

As a result of working in the Medical, Insurance, Billing, Industry, for the past twenty-five plus years she has included within the book the following:

 Self--Publishing Good and Bad

Do you find as a published author you are always giving away your book to somebody for many different reasons? Yes, this goes along with the territory of having a published book, I am afraid. What the general public does not understand is the author has to pay for their own books.

When you self-publish your first book you are now in unknown territory. Yes, you could have read books on the subject. You probably spoke to many authors about this subject but until you actually put your money where your book is, you really do not know anything at all about what it is and what is expected of a self-published author.

You need to look at the subject as love. When you self-publish you are constantly spending money for all sorts of projects you never dreamed of in the past.

These are some of the things s you should be aware of before you self-publish your book:

(1) You will not be able to put your book on a known bookstores shelf. The reason for this is the publisher pays the bookstore for shelf space. There is not enough room for everybody’s books. They usually stick with the well-known popular authors they know they can sell and make money on.
(2)An unknown author is a risk.

(3)You will pay to self-publish your book.

(4)You will do all the marketing which is completely frustrating.

(5)The best way to sell your book is to do a talk or presentation at a club or group full of people and sell your book in the back of the room.

(6)You will have to pay somebody to edit your book. It is not a good thing to edit your own book. You are to close to it and can not see what others can see.

(7)If you need illustrations done and you can not do your own this is another expense.

(8)PUBLISH YOUR BOOK YOURSELF NO/CHARGE. My book Writer’s How to Publish Free will help you.

I do not want you to get frustrated and not publish your book. If you feel your book is worth the money and effort – go for it. As I said above, this is strictly for people who love reading and writing and are willing to get hooked on an expensive hobby or extra income.

Once you self-publish your first book and you get good feed back from, friends, family and complete strangers you will definitely publish your second book. See what I said.
