Eating Your Feelings

Eating your feelings

When you eat that bowl of ice cream or that chocolate candy you just have to have - or your life will be miserable without it, have you ever stopped to think? Why do I need this food and at this particular time?

Before you take a bite of the food you need to go to the root of the problem. Ask yourself these questions. Am I bored, depressed, unhappy or just plain lonely?

Eating food at all times of the day and night to make you feel better is an easy out. It is our friend. It is something to comfort you in your hour of need. But does it really do this?

All it does is add calories to your bodies which lead to fat and pretty soon your clothes are too small and your health is suffering.

When you make this assumption, are you lonely and depressed, and your life isn't what you want it to be, you can now accept this statement and do something positive to change your life.

Make a plan.

Think. What can you do before you feel loneliness? For instance, when you feel the urge to eat something just for the sake of eating, go for a walk. Swimming is always good. Any kind of arts and crafts or sports.

Volunteer anywhere. This will open up new avenues for you. You will meet new people. Have some responsibility and learn new things. This is the time to experiment with new kinds of things that you have never tried before.  It will boost your self-esteem.

Remember the new camera you received for Christmas, and you haven't taken out of the box. This is the key to the new you. Take that camera and go on a walk. Start snapping pictures of the sky, flowers and the trees around you. You will be outside, doing something different, and getting fresh air and exercise. Your mental outlook on life will change for the better. You will be smiling from the inside out.

Diabetics Read The Labels Not Everything Is Sugar-Free Even If It Reads Sugar-Free

We the consumers who need sugar-free food must be able to buy food articles at the local grocery stores. This is not the case, instead, it now takes a computer search to find the food at what store or what computer website. Do you think this is right? Food for the diabetic should be easily accessible to stay healthy, alive, your eyesight intact and your feet and legs attached.
Important: Foods which say sugar-free on the label in some cases are not sugar-free. The labels are a little harder to understand but if you stick with it, you will see that there are other kinds of sugars in the product. The best thing to do is to start cooking and baking yourself.
The healthy way to eat is:
•             Poultry
•             Lean meats or no meats
•             No Dairy
•             Fruits
•             Vegetables
•             Whole grains
•             Fish
Plus if you like desserts there are many sugar-free products on the market today but they have to be searched for and many are online.
There is some vegetables and food when eaten turn to sugar in your bloodstream Ex: corn.
Now is the time when you have to start reading everything you can on the labels of all foods. Canned foods have sugar and large amounts of salt. With the way food is mass produced today, sugar is in everything. When you add desserts and candies you are a walking bomb for becoming a Diabetic.
The two types of diabetes are referred to as type 1 and type 2. Former names for these conditions were insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetes, or juvenile onset and adult onset diabetes.
The symptoms include:
•             Increased urination
•             Fatigue
•             Double vision
•             Feet problems.
It is in your best interest to go to your doctor and have your blood sugar tested often; especially if you are overweight.
The complications of diabetes are:
•             Eye damage (you can go blind)
•             Damage of the feet (Surgery to remove the feet and other leg parts).
•             Kidneys
•             Heart
This is not a medical disease or condition to be taken lightly.
Treatments:
•             Diabetic Medication (Insulin Injections).
•             Exercise
•             Diet.
Exercise: Now is the time when you start and stick with some kind of exercise program. There are many to choose from. Walking is easy and free. It is a way to get back in touch with the outdoors and meet your neighbors or new people at the gym. There are so many ways to exercise. Swimming not only is good for the body but the mind as well. Others are basketball, baseball, football, soccer, walking, etc.
Eating is important. Think before you put that one bite into your mouth and chew it until it ends up in fifteen bites of something you should not have eaten and now you regret it.
You the consumer must be able to go to any grocery story and be able to buy a bottle of sugar-free syrup, sugar-free jelly, sugar-free chocolate candy, etc. When you are diagnosed as a Diabetic that doesn't mean that your life must stop. It doesn't mean you have to stop eating desserts or fun foods. If it wasn't for this type of foods you wouldn't have become a Diabetic. Your life can change for the better. You will slim down and you will have a better mental and physical outlook on life.
But just because the label says sugar-free does not mean that there are other ingredients in it that have all kinds of sugars. Be Aware.
If you want to find out what it feels like to be a diabetic ask your family and friends who have this condition.
