Diabetics Read The Labels Not Everything Is Sugar-Free Even If It Reads Sugar-Free

We the consumers who need sugar-free food must be able to buy food articles at the local grocery stores. This is not the case, instead, it now takes a computer search to find the food at what store or what computer website. Do you think this is right? Food for the diabetic should be easily accessible to stay healthy, alive, your eyesight intact and your feet and legs attached.
Important: Foods which say sugar-free on the label in some cases are not sugar-free. The labels are a little harder to understand but if you stick with it, you will see that there are other kinds of sugars in the product. The best thing to do is to start cooking and baking yourself.
The healthy way to eat is:
•             Poultry
•             Lean meats or no meats
•             No Dairy
•             Fruits
•             Vegetables
•             Whole grains
•             Fish
Plus if you like desserts there are many sugar-free products on the market today but they have to be searched for and many are online.
There is some vegetables and food when eaten turn to sugar in your bloodstream Ex: corn.
Now is the time when you have to start reading everything you can on the labels of all foods. Canned foods have sugar and large amounts of salt. With the way food is mass produced today, sugar is in everything. When you add desserts and candies you are a walking bomb for becoming a Diabetic.
The two types of diabetes are referred to as type 1 and type 2. Former names for these conditions were insulin-dependent and non-insulin-dependent diabetes, or juvenile onset and adult onset diabetes.
The symptoms include:
•             Increased urination
•             Fatigue
•             Double vision
•             Feet problems.
It is in your best interest to go to your doctor and have your blood sugar tested often; especially if you are overweight.
The complications of diabetes are:
•             Eye damage (you can go blind)
•             Damage of the feet (Surgery to remove the feet and other leg parts).
•             Kidneys
•             Heart
This is not a medical disease or condition to be taken lightly.
Treatments:
•             Diabetic Medication (Insulin Injections).
•             Exercise
•             Diet.
Exercise: Now is the time when you start and stick with some kind of exercise program. There are many to choose from. Walking is easy and free. It is a way to get back in touch with the outdoors and meet your neighbors or new people at the gym. There are so many ways to exercise. Swimming not only is good for the body but the mind as well. Others are basketball, baseball, football, soccer, walking, etc.
Eating is important. Think before you put that one bite into your mouth and chew it until it ends up in fifteen bites of something you should not have eaten and now you regret it.
You the consumer must be able to go to any grocery story and be able to buy a bottle of sugar-free syrup, sugar-free jelly, sugar-free chocolate candy, etc. When you are diagnosed as a Diabetic that doesn't mean that your life must stop. It doesn't mean you have to stop eating desserts or fun foods. If it wasn't for this type of foods you wouldn't have become a Diabetic. Your life can change for the better. You will slim down and you will have a better mental and physical outlook on life.
But just because the label says sugar-free does not mean that there are other ingredients in it that have all kinds of sugars. Be Aware.
If you want to find out what it feels like to be a diabetic ask your family and friends who have this condition.

Drawing

I love to draw the art of drawing is not lost. Look at something and try to draw it or trace it with tracing paper. When it is finished you can change it by how you color it to your own design.

Drawing is something I can do where ever I am. I do not need to take a big bag of paints or other art products. Drawing is the freedom to express myself. I love abstract and that is what I mainly do, Abstract.

Here are some examples of my drawings.

Computer Terror

It doesn’t take much for a un-GEEK to cringe in fear when talking to a computer GEEK.  I recently purchased a new printer and was having installation problems. I called the company and was connected to a man immediately. He said he would connect my printer automatically by taking control of my computer. This was okay because I have had this done before. He tried to install the printer and came up with several errors. The error was for the IPA address. He showed me on my computer the dates and times my computer had been hacked into. In other words, other people were using my internet.

He then told me about a GEEK squad who could remove everything which needed to be removed and repair my firewall which had been compromised.  The cost varied for 3 -5 years from $300 - $500 dollars.

My first thought when I saw the firewall breach was panic and fear. I would have paid the price and I told him I would. Then I took a deep breath and used my brain. Think!!!

I asked him to call me back and I called Staples and spoke to the man who had worked on my computer a few days ago. He told me when I had my computer cleaned out and they ran diagnostic tests those were the phone numbers which is what I was seeing and the man from the printer company was confused.  The charge for installing the printer is $30.00 and I said I would be there with bells on.

What I have been doing for the last three years is go to their GEEK Squad and have them put in the virus protection and pay for a 1-year warranty against all viruses. This has kept my old lap told working to which I am extremely happy.
Stop and think before dealing with stressful situations.
